I like to think that a common thread of my past experiences in physics, philosophy, journalism, and teaching has made me think about systems a lot, which underpins how I think about designing interactions and the systems around them, and what stories we tell and learn from. I’ve been in the field of human-centered design for over a decade, and civic tech’s focus on making someone’s life a bit better and a bit easier excites me. I’ve written about the field for a variety of publications, done foundational research, taught, and co-authored a chapter of a graduate-level textbook.
